RSS Feeds
I've signed up on Bloglines and found some sites to connect to. I'm not finding much to do with Australian gardening that I can link to - will keep looking. Some of the links are a bit disappointing - too much random trivia. UA library link shows their new Botany books -this could be useful.
Facebook uses
IF I get time next year, I might create a Facebook site for the Glasshouse Country Garden Expo. I guess if IFLA can do it, so can I. Though I must admit, my personal experience of Facebook has been disappointing. Very strange people ask me to be their friend.
A wiki would be useful
I've just been looking at some interesting wikis. They have the advantage over blogs in that they can be a lot more interactive and cooperative. I think a wiki in which people could write reviews on new Australian botany and gardening books would be very useful. It is often hard to find out about small publications on local flora. A pupose built wiki would allow all plant lovers to pool their knowledge about new publications and write reviews. I'm sure many library users who enjoy reading plant books and also acquisitions staff would use such a wiki.
Maybe when I get some spare time...........!!!

Glasshouse Country Garden Expo
Glasshouse Country Garden Expo will be held on Sunday 24th May, 9am to 4pm. This expo started four years ago as an initiative of Beerwah Library staff and it has grown to become a huge event. It's a great place to buy plants, see displays, hear experts and have fun. Beerwah Library will be open on the day and the library will also have a display in the Community Hall. There will be lots of gardening books on display.
